Design of Scruffy Duck

Scruffy Duck has a duck theme and is set on a lake with lily pads and frogs in the backdrop and even some dragon flies are flying around. Symbols on the reels include 4 ducks (carrying objects such as mobile phones, gifts, radios, and lollipops) and broken egg shells with the 4 playing cards (A, K, Q and J) in it. The highest value symbol is the duck with the mobile phone as 5 on them on a payline pays out 400 coins.

There is also a wild symbol which is represented by the scruffy duck himself. The expanding wild feature appears in both the base game and free spins feature. The scruffy duck becomes a beautiful swan as he expands. It substitutes for all symbols except the free spins symbol and automatically expands to cover the whole reel when it is part of a winning combination.

Our verdict

We enjoyed playing Scruffy with its quirky graphics and matching sound effects. It has the potential to pay out very nicely and the variety of bonus features makes it an enjoyable game with big win potential in 4 of 5 features. This variety makes it that you can play for quite a while without getting bored. We don’t think it will become an evergreen like some of the other Netent games but it is an above average game.
