Spin that reel – Iron Girl slot review

Iron Girl is a new scifi themed video slot from game provider Play N Go. We don’t feel this girl is even remotely related to iron man, but we will review it nontheless. This slot comes with 20 paylines, 3 rows along with 5 reels and pays a possible jackpot of 200 coins on a single spin. As always the game looks nice as we can expect from a Play n’ Go title but at first it felt to us like something was missing because there are no free spins or bonus rounds to be won. Premium symbols are 4 different villains and of course we have the lower value symbols in stylish diamonds, spades, clubs and hearts.

”Play N’ Go’s Iron Girl is based on a science fiction theme where the heroisch Iron Girl has to capture multiple space villains. she collects her bounties in the form of re-spins, wilds and multipliers. The game gives you villain Re-spins as long as you collect villains and wilds. The Big Bounty bonus is when you manaage to stick 8 or more villains where the game can give you additional wilds and multipliers of up to 5x.

The second bonus round is the Iron Girl Wilds where 5 Iron Girl Wilds are added to your reels. Iron Girl deploys her Iron Armour by taking on the most evil villains starting with Quake, Slith, Shia and Thunder. Symbols that appear on the reels are the same villains, royal symbols while the most lucrative symbol is the wild (Iron Girl). When 5 of them appear on the reels at the maximum bet per spin you will win 10x your bet.

Game Play

This slots can of course be played with real cash on any device including mobile devices and you can spin it from as little as €0.20 all the way up to €100 per spin for those players that want to go crazy. You can customize the audio, graphics settings, Auto Play, max Bet and coin range as you may expect from a Play n’ Go game.

Bonuses in Iron Girl

This game does not have the traditional bonus game we see in most games. So there are no 3 scatters or more to go after in order to get your free spins. Instead the game has other bonuses up its sleeve.

Villain Re-Spins
The Villain Re-spins bonus mode is activated when the most valuable villain symbols stick to the reels with wilds resulting in a re-spin. As long as the matching villain symbols and wilds keep popping up on the reels you’ll keep on receiving re-spins. This way you can end up with a possible full reel set of villain symbols (same kind) with a big win as a result.

Bounty Bonus
The Bounty Bonus round is initiated once you collected 8 or more villains – 2 Iron Girl wilds pitch too. Above the reels you’ll see a ‘Reward Meter’ which keeps track of the amount of villains you collected. As you collect sticky wilds the following rewards will be added:

  • 10 sticky wilds – multiplier of 2x and a final Villain re-spin.
  • 12 sticky villains – multiplier of 3x and a final Villain re-spin.
  • 14 sticky wilds – multiplier of 5x will be added as well as a final Villain re-spin.

Furthermore, during the main game the Iron Armour feature is triggered randomly, 2 to 5 wilds substitute normal symbols. The Villain re-spins feature can be triggered by it too, a winning combination with high value symbols.

Verdict

For us it feels like Play ‘n Go forgot to put in that pinch of extra to make this game really exciting. It plays pretty straightforward where re-spins are given in conjunction with high value symbols and multipliers can increase up to 5x. And yes, a single spin can give you 1,000x your stake as a maximum. But we just feel we are missing out on a nice bonus game with free spins and in our opinion Play n’ Go did a better job with Planet Fortune where it comes to the Scifi genre.
