Spin that Reel – Reactoonz 2 slot review
Reactoonz 1 was presented to the general public in 2017 and has since done well beyond all expectations. The slot is still proudly in the top 10 of most played online slots. Of course Play’n GO has decided to release a sequel: Reactoonz 2 was released on October 1, 2020.
The biggest differences are in the gameplay: graphically not much has changed on the slot. It is a cluster pays slot, where you have to make groups of the same symbols. Also that so much loved Gargantoon has remained. It is still a mighty beautiful sight when that mega-sized character is placed on the screen. Where does it fall? And does it fall well, preferably among as many purple Reactoonz as possible? After all, then you know that you are going to win big money.
And winning big money is absolutely possible on Reactoonz 2. The maximum win is no less than 5,083 x the total bet.
How does the Reactoonz 2 slot work?
Before we explain everything to you, a little warning. It takes a while before you fully understand Reactoonz 2. A lot is happening, the wilds are flying around your ears and then there are also two meters that have to be filled. Winning combinations are canceled and chain reactions occur. In short: it will only make you dizzy for the first few thousand spins. Doesn’t matter, just let it happen. At some point, all pennies will drop. Or not, but don’t let that spoil the fun. Because having fun with Reactoonz 2, you certainly will.
The game is played on the familiar grid of 7 x 7 symbols. You bet with a betting range that is between € 0.20 and € 100 per spin. The variance is high and the default payout percentage is 96.20%.
Symbols and Payouts
All known Reactoonz form the first game are back. Winning combinations are created with a group of 5 or more of the same symbols. There are premium symbols (the Reactoonz with two eyes), of which the purple one is worth the most. A cluster of 15 or more purple Reactoonz will earn you 500 x the total bet. The other premium symbols do a maximum of between 60 x and 200 x the total bet.
Then there are the somewhat dull Reactoonz, which have only one eye. These do not yield much in terms of payouts, but do play a crucial role in the game.
Each spin, one of the low symbols is designated as a special symbol. Every time a winning combo is made with this symbol, one wild symbol remains.
Fill two meters and win big
There are two meters in play and they both have to be filled to get anywhere in the game. The top meter is the Fluctometer. You fill this by making winning combinations with the special symbol. A full meter with 11 symbols gives you 1, 2 or 3 extra wilds.
The bottom meter is perhaps even more important. This is the Quantumeter. This meter is filled by making winning combinations with a wild in it. The further the meter is filled, the better the prices:
- Level 1: four extra wilds
- Level 2: a wild of 2 x 2 symbols
- Level 3: the 3 x 3 Gargantoon wild!
- Level 4: a Gargantoon wild with a x2 multiplier
Wild pair Explosion
The Wild Pair Explosion is an extra feature that can save you from stuffy situations. If there are two normal wilds on the screen and no winning combinations can be made, the Wild Pair Explosion follows. The wilds detonate a number of symbols, which fill the Quantum Meter. Suppose you just need a few more symbols to get the Gargantoon, then this feature can give just that last push. Yummy!
If the wilds are right next to or above each other, the entire screen is wiped clean and that provides an extra many symbols for the Quantumeter!
it is never easy to make a successful sequel of an already successful game. But that is exactly what Play n’ Go did and maybe they even made it better. Because of the different ways in which you can fill the Quantumeter, the different levels and the many wilds, it has become a true spectacle. Especially when you are on your way towards that so beloved Gargantoon, you literally feel the tension rising. Reactoonz 2 is a brilliant piece of programming and design work and deserves full credit.
