Spin that reel – Big Bad Wolf slot review

Big Bad Wolf is a creation of Swedish casino game developer Quickspin. The game is based on the fairy tale of the three little piglets that are under siege by the big bad wolf. The game has 5 reels and 25 winlines and you can start spinning at 25 cents per spin all the way up to a massive 250 euro per spin. What makes this game special is the ‘pigs turn wild’ feature. We’ll tell you all about this popular slot in this review.

The slot symbols consist of the three little piglets, the wolf, a beehive that counts as a wild, a stuffed teddy bear and of course the lower value symbols 9,10, jack, queen, king and ace as we see in many other slot games. The design of this game is very nicely done and the combination of the graphics, animations and sound effects really tie this game together. The game sybmols drop like an avalance which we all know form Gonzo’s Quest. After each successful spin, the winning symbols will blow away and get replaced by the symbols directly above. The reels will keep on dropping as long as the result is a winning combination. What you don’t want to see is stacked symbols of the same type because these are harder to get rid of and chances are your pigs go wild run will get reset.

Pigs turn wild

Big Bad Wolf has a different take on the wild. The game comes with a regular wild in the shape of a beehive, but after a certain amount of wins the 3 pigs can turn wild as well. The first pig turns wild after 2 wins, the second after 4 wins and the third after 6 wins. A meter in the top right corner will indicate which piglets have turned wild.

Free spins in the bonus game

If you find 3 or more Wolf scatter symbols anywhere on the reels you will be rewarded with 10 free spins. These can be re-triggered so keep an eye out for that wolf during your free spins. A win with 3 or more scatters is also subject to a 3x multiplier.

Last but not least we have the Blowing Down The House feature. Find 3 Moon symbols to blow down the wooden house and you’ll be awarded 2 extra spins. Hit 6 moons and you’ll blow down the brick house which also awards 2 bonus spins, this time accompanied by a 2x multiplier which doubles winning paylines. You will see the wolf walking away with the piglets in his bag and who knows you will walk away with a bag of cash!

Our verdict

Big Bad wolf is a great game for any kind of player and definitely a nice game for the beginning player. Because of the high RTP it is a game that can go on for quite a while. Especially when going into infinity spinning in the bonus game you can work on some pretty nice wins that can add up. Just don’t get greedy like the big bad wolf himself.
